Along the water there are beautiful scenic streets with views of the Gatineau Hills, and the inner-city area has a bustling downtown-feel with plenty of shopping, dining, and excursions.

In the 1800s, Westboro was actually a rural community filled with farms, sawmills, and more. Slowly, it developed a larger presence once it got an electric trolly running into downtown. As time went on, more and more large name stores and amenities came to the area, and now Westboro is one of the trendier areas in Ottawa!
Check out the Maplelawn estate, a National Historic Site from 1831! The Maplelawn Garden has the second oldest building in Ottawa!
The Westboro War Memorial was unveiled in 1985 and is dedicated to the memory of the fallen Westboro residents from the Great War, Second World War, and the Korea War.

The best place to be in the summer is Westboro Beach - a perfect sandy beach right along the Ottawa River.
You can bike in the summer and cross country ski in the winter on the pathways that run along the Ottawa River.
