Britannia
Welcome to Britannia, a group of neighbourhoods in the West End of Ottawa.
Britannia is a large span of neighbourhoods adjacent to the town of Aylmer in Quebec, along the Ottawa River. It features all types of homes and people, with both low-income housing and some largely affluent neighbourhoods, especially near the Britannia Yacht Club.

Britannia was originally a large estate owned by Captain John Lebreton in 1818. He began selling real estate in this area in 1828.
The Britannia Methodist Church was then formed in 1873 and has celebrated nearly 150 years in the community. It was developed within the home of the first settler of the Nepean Township; Ira Honeywell.
In 1899, a street car line was built to bring people more easily into Britannia. A Boathouse Club and an Amusement Park were then built in the area, bringing in more tourists and developing a cottage and beach style community.
